Welcome, Gen X gals. Just about everyone can agree that the 80s were the best decade. Even Millennials who were lucky to experience the 80s in diapers and Gen Z kids who only heard about it through their parents' ramblings know that it was a magical time. The internet existed, but it was not easily available to the general public. If you wanted to know something specific, you had to go look it up in a book. In fact, you most likely had to go to library, which was a quick 30-minute bike ride from your house. What would be a thoughtless Google search in 2024 was a whole afternoon adventure in the 80s. Movies actually had practical effects instead of being CGI fests, the music was diverse and came on cassette tapes, and cereal boxes still came with actual toys inside.
